Kanoo Power Solutions (KPS), a division of Ebrahim K. Kanoo Group, dealing in power products & services for industrial applications, organized a “Technical Meet on Diesel Generators” showcasing advanced technologies and power solutions from AKSA Power Generations, world’s third largest generator assembler. The event held at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel on 14th March 2012 was well attended by invited guests from both public and private sector organizations, including ministries, government agencies, contractors & consultants.

The event started with a welcome speech given by Mr. Gurcharan Singh, GM, Spare Parts Division followed by a key note address by Mr. Bashar Darkazalli, CEO - Ebrahim K. Kanoo Group. A brief insight into the various power solutions from KPS was presented by Mr. Mahesh Dash, Manager – KPS.

Mr. Ordun, Sales & Marketing Director AKSA  addressed the gathering  highlighting their global, world class manufacturing facilities in Turkey, their International Quality Certifications and their past supply credentials to various military establishments that utilize Diesel Generators working under high demanding prime power environments. Also, AKSA Technical Manager, Mr. Murtaza emphasized on the proper selection of generating units and appropriate installation schemes for maximum power output from the generators.

Toyota Plaza, one of the biggest and most comprehensive automotive facilities in the region, was awarded with the Kodawari Quality Certification from Toyota Motor Corporation, further emphasizing on the high quality, top service and excellent customer service shown in it.

Toyota Field Operations Manager in the Middle East Mr. Yoshida presented Toyota Plaza Management with the certificate and the plaque during a ceremony held at Toyota Plaza, in Tubli.

The 2012 Aurion features a number of changes inspired by the new demands of its customers in the large/midsized sedan segment. The 2012 Aurion features several changes to the exterior, creating an active sporty form with an expanded presence in a wide, striking design. The headlamps and the grille of the new Aurion have been reworked, with thin, long headlamps on either side of a thicker front grille, which emphasizes this part and adds an impression of width. An elevated hood adds thickness to the vehicle, expressing a majestic and powerful presence. The side of the Aurion has been accented for a stronger appearance through a flared bottom section and an accented door-cross section. New 17in wheels enhance the character of the vehicle and provide a feeling of advanced luxury. The rear of the Aurion has also been redesigned, blending into the rear combination lamps for a greater emphasis on width, with the bumper corners protruding outwards, creating a wide stable feeling and a ground hugging stance. The 2012 Aurion comes in four new colors: Attitude Black, Gray, Bronze and Blue.

The interior of the Aurion has also been revamped, with an emphasis on luxury and quality, creating a unique personalized appearance. The cabin of the Aurion has been enlarged, with larger dimensions creating a more spacious interior. Vehicle package has been modified to maximize occupant room and make the cabin feel more spacious. The Aurion dashboard has an exclusive horizontal T-shaped design, which significantly enhances the feeling of prestige. A thicker meter hood gives a solid feel that adds a modern beauty to the interior. The feeling of quality is improved, with real leather stitching around the vehicle, and curved wood grain and silver accents create a sense of functional beauty and high-quality. The 2012 Aurion is available with the choice of a 6-speed sequential automatic transmission, coming with a 3.5L Engine and a maximum output of 274 HP, delivering top-class level fuel economy and a powerful driving experience. A newly adopted ECO meter allows drivers to recognize when they are driving in a fuel efficient and economical manner. The new Aurion has also been designed to significantly reduce road and wind noise, resulting in a quieter cabin experience expected from prestige sedans. Various training parts were donated by Ebrahim K. Kanoo, the sole distributor for Toyota and Lexus in kingdom of Bahrain to the National Institute of Industrial Training (NIIT), as part of the company’s constant efforts to develop Bahrain’s technical skills in the automotive sector.

The donation took place in an event held at the Toyota Plaza in Tubli, where NIIT’s Managing Director Dr. Hashim Hashim accepted the equipment from Toyota Service Division General Manager Mr. Michael Goode.

Dr. Hashim thanked the company for its repeated contributions which have increased the level of knowledge and skills at the institute.

Ebrahim K. Kanoo equipment donations generally aim towards advancing the youth technical education level to create a stronger future for the automotive sector in the kingdom of Bahrain.

Lexus ranked highest in customer satisfaction among luxury brands in the J.D. Power and Associates 2012 Customer Service Index (CSI) Study for the fourth consecutive year. Lexus achieved an overall CSI score of 861 on a 1,000-point scale, 15 points above the segment average and the highest numerical score in the study, regardless of segment.

During the event, Dr. Bijan Majidi introduced the 2012 Logistics performance reward system and the Logistics Kaizen program, which are both aimed to continuously improve operations at the logistics department at Ebrahim K. Kanoo and further enhance customer service.

Mr. Ismail H. Akbar Executive General Manager- Toyota and Lexus Sales reiterated the importance of the logistics department for E K Kanoo’s successful supply chain and overall customer satisfaction.
Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Bashar Darkazalli also commented on the importance of ongoing training and development programs for the logistics department.
At the end of the ceremony, the best performing employees of the logistics team of 2011 were announced and awarded.

The three prestigious awards, “Toyota Marketing Award for Excellence - Overall”, “Toyota Marketing Award for Excellence – Vehicle” and “Toyota Customer Service Excellence Award” were presented by Mr. Akira Okabi, Toyota Motor Corporation’s Executive Advisor to the Chairman of Ebrahim K. Kanoo Mr. Mohammed Kanoo, and Vice Chairman Mr. Fuad Kanoo in a special ceremony.
On this occasion, Mr. Ismail Akbar commented: “we are proud to have been awarded with the Toyota awards for excellence for 2011, and I would like to thank all our employees for their dedication and hard work.”
He added: “the trust and loyalty of our customers has always been a major factor leading to our achievement. Despite the tough times and difficulties that occurred last year, we invested heavily in the infrastructure, opening new service centers, training our employees and launching latest models of Toyota and Lexus. In a small ceremony at Toyota Plaza in Tubli, Ebrahim K. Kanoo officials handed out prizes for the winners of the Toyota Dream Car contest on the 8th of March 2012.

The prizes varied between iPad 2, PlayStation 3 consoles and cash prizes.
Winners in the “Under 10 years” category were: Anmol Kaur, Master Inderdeep Singh, Nadec Biju, Ryan Stephen Amirthan and Amal Ali.

In the “10 – 12 years” category winners were: Vaishnaui Biju, Zainab Esmail Abdulrasool, Aryan Sanjay Parab, Gaminee Prahalad Pathod and Shawn Anton Amirthan.

In the “13 – 15 years” category winners were: Fatima Esmail Abdulrasool, Maryam Ali Akbar Zainal, Zainab Almahdi, Nada Biju and Shreyas S. Parab.

2000 drawings were received for all categories, encouraging children to draw pictures of their dream cars, to inspire an interest among the participants in automobiles and encourage them all to have dreams and chase them.

The above mentioned winners will automatically be contestants in the global contest. In the event of being one of the global winners, the participant will be sent to Japan to attend the final ceremony.

“We are delighted with the big response from the children of Bahrain. These drawings are a testimony of a bright future yet to come by the hands of our youth, as some of them reflected high awareness of the environmental concerns with intelligent ways to deal with it” Said Khalid Safa, Communication Manager in Ebrahim K.
