Kanoo Information Technology conducts seminar in partnership with IBM & Microsoft

Kanoo Information Technology, one of the leading companies delivering total IT solutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain, organized a conference on the “Benefits of Infrastructure Consolidation & SharePoint Server 2010” in association with IBM, the leading manufacturer of Servers and Storage systems and Microsoft, the leader in Software Platforms and Applications. The conference, held at the Sheraton Bahrain on Thursday, 13th May 2010, was attended by more than 100 invited guests including IT directors; CIO’s and senior IT officials from Ministries, Public and Private sector organizations to share knowledge, ideas and best practices.

The event was marked by a presentation highlighting IBM’s latest Server- 3850 x5 which offers improved performance and enhanced features including MAX5 memory expansion and workload optimization to maximize memory and processing power. IBM was represented by Mr. Joseph Huang, Country Manger-System X and Mr. Shaik Asif, System X storage Leader for MENA region.

Another highlight of the event was the product demo for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2010 which was released to public worldwide on 12th May 2010. Mr. Vijay Kolli, Lead Architect Microsoft MEA was the guest speaker demonstrating the advancements in Office Share Point Server 2010 and Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud, Microsoft Bahrain emphasized the importance of improving user experience by adopting desktop optimization by upgrading to the latest flavor of Windows Desktop Operating system, Windows 7.

Kanoo IT, Technical Service Team Manager, Mr. Senthil Kumar was instrumental in putting together a product demonstration for implementing High availability using IBM Blade Server, Storage and Virtualization with Microsoft Hyper-V.  Concluding the conference, Mr. Ibrahim Hamad, Technical Lead- Kanoo IT talked about benefits of adopting Office Share Point Server 2010, from a developer perspective.
