The All New 2008 Toyota Land Cruiser is launched in Bahrain-The Pride of the Land

The Toyota Land Cruiser’s reputation as the “King of 4WD” will be confirmed at this weekend’s launch of the full-model change since almost a decade. The all terrain vehicle is loved by drivers and passengers alike for its ease of handling, comfort, versatility and safety – all enhanced in the latest model, which is now available through Ebrahim K. Kanoo B.S.C, Toyota and Lexus sole distributor in the Kingdom of Bahrain at the Toyota Showroom in Sitra.

The look and feel of the all new 2008 Land Cruiser has been further improved while retaining a familiar stamp of quality that customers will recognize immediately. Its design and engineering meets the needs of drivers looking for a natural on and off-road vehicle, while meeting the latest global standards in emissions and safety. The new Land Cruiser also boasts a totally new engine line up, better off-road maneuverability and a host of in-car comfort, entertainment and safety features.

The all new 2008 Land Cruiser inherits tried and tested Land Cruiser DNA and enhances it with a lightweight design that has superior torsional and bending rigidity. This and other safety features create an impact absorption frame that ensures strength and flexibility to safely meet the most challenging of off-road environments. The frame structure is also designed to offer maximum passenger protection during impact and reduce collision damage to other road users.

An impressive new engine line-up includes a durable 4.0L V6 gasoline engine with 240 HP and a 4.7L V8 with 271 HP gasoline engine newly converted to VVT-I (Variable Valve timing with intelligence) for more power and better fuel economy. An updated 232 HP 4.5L V8 diesel engine offers improved output at high speeds. A new 6-speed automatic transmission also fully utilizes engine torque and increases off-road power, on-road acceleration and fuel efficiency.

Innovative off-road technology also features in the new Land Cruiser, including KDSS (Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System), which ensures a stable and smooth ride over any terrain. Driving on rocky or muddy surfaces, where sensitive pedal control is a must, is also made easy with the Crawl Control System, which automatically manages both engine and brakes to maintain a constant low speed, freeing the driver to concentrate on negotiating the terrain.

An all new 4-Zone air conditioning system protects occupants from extreme temperatures by bringing the entire cabin to the optimum temperature within a very short time, but also allows for the individual preferences of passengers, by creating zones in the vehicle that can be kept at constant but different temperatures.

The cabin has the functionality of an off-road vehicle with the superior comfort and finishing that Land Cruiser customers have come to expect. The ample interior space includes plush seating for added comfort over three rows which can be easily rearranged to suit a variety of seating or cargo configurations. Traditional front and side air bags are supplemented by curtain shield airbags for side protection. Both comfort and safety are enhanced by protective knee pads for rigorous off-road driving as well as secure stowing for passenger items.
